1. Communication in the target language. UHI/Universal Languages (UHI/UL) is committed to providing its students with intensive communication skills. Our students actually speak the language. We do not teach about the language, we create an environment in which students practice their conversational skills in the target language.

2. Language learning is culture learning. Our instructional programs are accompanied by adequate understanding of the culture of the target language. The knowledge of the culture is an important ingredient of true linguistic proficiency. Regardless of your language level, we will include clarification of the cultural information related to your target language: history and geographical locations of the language in the world, customs and values, attitudes and behaviors necessary to understand how what you say in the language is actually understood in the context of the culture.

3. Our language training programs are customized to the individual client or client-group to the company, the job, the industry or profession, the personal or business project. We are committed to providing you with goal-related functional language skills, for your situation. We structure your program so that your instruction is relevant to your general and professional language needs. We conduct a meticulous needs analysis of your skills, then design your individual or group program with emphasis on the needed areas: speaking and listening; reading and writing.

4. In individual or group programs, we stress functional proficiency. Our goal is to prepare you to use the language on a day-to-day basis. Our instructors continually strive to help you practice and understand the functional utility of your skills for the actual contexts in which you need them. We do not teach about the language, WE TEACH THE LANGUAGE.

5. Our Class size is limited to a minimum number of students for maximum interaction. In order to maximize interaction between the instructor and the students, most of our class sizes are limited to four students. We erase your fears and help you to actually SPEAK the language.

6. Our instructors are all qualified multilingual and multicultural professionals with many years' experience in language training. They have near native or native proficiency, and have all lived in countries where your target language is the mother language. They are well versed in the Adult Experiential Learning Principles Model. UHI/UL president and senior consultant Emmanuel Ngomsi is a former United States Peace Corps language coordinator and cross-culture instructor overseas.

7. We continuously assess the performance of our students and at the end of each block section, we issue a certificate of completion after completion of a proficiency test administered by certified testers.

8. Flexible location and flexible scheduling. We will come to your organization or home to provide quality language and culture instruction. We schedule classes according to your work, travel and personal schedules. You tell us when you want your classes: mornings, evenings, lunch time or even on weekends.

9. Best of all, most of our appropriate instructional materials (books, workbooks, cassette tapes, etc…) are FREE of charge.

10. All ages accepted. Research shows that the earlier children start language classes, the better and faster they learn. Locally, we offer age or school grade appropriate language instructions to our youth. This intensive foreign language supplementary program is proven to be complementary to the school curricula.

11. We offer a multitude of languages. We provide instruction in any language. Our network of language experts is extensive. Currently, our most popular classes are Spanish, French, Italian, Chinese, Korean, German and Russian.
